Linda Kasonde is a legal practitioner based in Lusaka, Zambia. Ms. Kasonde was admitted to the Zambian Bar in 2001. Linda obtained an LLB Law Degree from the University of Leicester in England in 2000 and an LLM Law Degree from the University of Cape Town. She was previously a named partner at the firm Mulenga Mundashi Kasonde Legal practitioners where she had worked for fifteen years. Linda founded and ran the NGO Chapter One Foundation for five years before stepping down to run LCK Chambers full-time. Previously, she worked as an Advocate at the National Legal Aid Clinic for Women for three years. Ms. Kasonde is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) in England and Zambia. She is a former member of the inaugural Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal in Zambia. She is also a former Chairperson of the University of Zambia Staff Tribunal.
Ms. Kasonde’s practice involves provision of legal advice on issues ranging from Company Law, Human Rights Law, Labour Law, Employment Law, contract law, commercial law, and other areas of the Law. Ms. Kasonde also drafts and negotiates contracts on behalf of clients and prepares legal opinions on various aspects of the law. Ms. Kasonde also competently conducts litigation on behalf of corporate and individual clients on matters including commercial disputes, debt recovery, insurance and employment disputes.
