Susan Clayton

After graduating with an LLB Hons in 2005, Sue worked under Wynter Kabimba, SC for much of 10 years, where she gained general law and litigation experience and contributed to several successful judicial review cases.

After being admitted to the Bar in 2016, she was an associate in the Corporate Advisory Department at Corpus Legal Practitioners for 5 years. She was also seconded to Corpus Globe Corporate Solutions, first as general manager to early 2021, then as a consultant legal manager until late 2021. She oversaw significant growth of the business and enjoyed developing a strong legal team delivering company secretarial and immigration advisory services to international and domestic corporates.

Sue has extensive experience in corporate, company secretarial, compliance and immigration advisory. Sue also practises family law, encouraging amicable child arrangements and financial settlements in divorces. After completing the Edwards Mediation Academy Mediation Skills Course in 2023, she plans to develop her family mediation skills. She is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Sue is co-convenor of the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) Law Reform, Research and Development Committee; and was appointed to the LAZ Climate Change Task Force in 2023 where she served for 18 months. She has a keen interest in nature conservation and is the secretary of BirdWatch Zambia (the Birdlife International partner for Zambia).
