On completing her LLB (Hons) by distance learning with the University of Wolverhampton [U.K.] in 2005, Sue started working with Wynter Kabimba, a well-respected litigator, particularly in public law. Over much of 10 years, she gained experience in general law practice and contributed to several successful judicial review cases; and Mr Kabimba was her principal during her attachment for the Legal Practice Qualifying Examination.

After being called to the Bar in 2016, Sue worked at Corpus Legal Practitioners in the Corporate Advisory Department and was also seconded as general manager to Corpus Globe Corporate Solutions (CGCSo), a comprehensive company secretarial and immigration business. She oversaw significant growth in the business and development of the team delivering world-class corporate and compliance services augmented with immigration consultancy and tax agency, to diverse clients across banking, ICT, mining, media, agriculture, energy, and health, from multinationals and regional investors to local entrepreneurs and NGOs. While at Corpus, she submitted to parliament and the companies registry on the Companies Act.

Linda Kasonde

Founder / Partner

Linda Kasonde is a legal practitioner based in Lusaka, Zambia. Ms. Kasonde was admitted to the Zambian Bar in 2001. Linda obtained an LLB Law Degree from the University of Leicester in England in 2000 and an LLM Law Degree from the University of Cape Town. She was previously a named partner at the firm Mulenga Mundashi Kasonde Legal practitioners where she had worked for fifteen years. Linda founded and ran the NGO Chapter One Foundation for five years before stepping down to run LCK Chambers full-time. Previously, she worked as an Advocate at the National Legal Aid Clinic for Women for three years.  Ms. Kasonde is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb) in England and Zambia. She is a former member of the inaugural Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal in Zambia. She is also a former Chairperson of the University of Zambia Staff Tribunal.

Lubena Give Nalwimba

Lubena is an Associate with experience in various aspects of laws and regulations that govern mining, energy resources and land matters within the jurisdiction. Lubena earned her LLB from the University of Lusaka and is an Advocate of the High Court of Zambia and a member of the Law Association of Zambia.

Lubena possesses expertise in ensuring legal compliance of entities both within and beyond the jurisdiction. She has achieved this by providing legal opinions and assisting with fulfilling compliance requirements with diverse regulatory bodies in Zambia. Lubena has collaborated with both local and international clients on matters including conveyances, lease agreements, construction and infrastructure contracts, as well as projects involving mining and energy law.

Namakuzu Shandavu

Associate

Namakuzu has 18 years of legal experience and specializes in the real estate, construction and mining sectors.  She also has experience in probate and intellectual property law. She advises local and international clients on mining and energy law projects, conveyances, lease agreements, construction and infrastructure agreements and registering of securities for financing in the real estate sector.

She has lead deal teams advising clients on their operations in Zambia, including licensing, acquisition of mining rights, joint ventures in the mining sector, mergers and acquisitions and land acquisition among others.

Namakuzu holds a Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) from the University of Zambia and is an Advocate of the Superior Courts of Zambia, and a member of the International Bar Association and Law Association of Zambia. She is a Notary Public of the Republic of Zambia and was recognized as a ‘Rising Star’ with respect to Energy & Infrastructure, Mergers and Acquisitions by IFLR1000 in 2024.

At any given time, she has lead a team of between one to ten legal resources, consisting of Senior Associates, Associates and Legal Assistants. Further, Namakuzu fully participates in the mentorship and training of Learner Legal Practitioners and university students.
